Rajeev Kher

Rajeev has a rich and varied experience of 37 years in the Indian Administrative Service. His field of experience includes International Trade & Commerce, Industrial Development & Investment Policy, Competition Law & Policy, Sustainable Development Policy & Planning as well as Environmental Management and Global Governance.

He was Commerce Secretary in the Government of India and also a Member of the Competition Appellate Tribunal. He has held several important positions in the State Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India. He prepared the first National Environmental Policy and also the first elaborate Foreign Trade Policy for India. He was the Chief Negotiator for India in the WTO and for several other bilateral and plurilateral trade agreements.

He is extensively consulted on international trade and economic policy, and global environment issues by various stakeholders and think tanks, and is a member of several Government Committees including the High-Level Advisory Group on trade. He is a member of the Board of Directors of prominent manufacturing and service companies. He writes regularly on contemporary trade and economic policy issues.
