A N Roy is a distinguished and well known former senior civil servant belonging to the 1972 batch of the Maharashtra cadre of the IPS. During his four decades-long public service career, he has held several significant roles in the Government of Maharashtra and Government of India, including Commissioner of Police (Mumbai) and Director General of Police (Maharashtra)
He has vast experience and knowledge of working for governments at both the state and central level, dealing with various kinds of challenges and with multiple agencies and stakeholders including the public at large "Problem Resolution" is his unique area of expertise.
Post his superannuation from service, he works for the poorest and marginalised sections of the community, particularly for livelihood support to the widows of farmers in Vidarbha through his not-for-profit company Vandana Foundation. He also serves on governing bodies of many other non-profit organisations.
He has also served/serving on the Boards of prominent companies like HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance, GlaxoSK Pharma, BHEL etc. He also serves on Advisory Boards of many companies and financial institutions.
