Our Analyst program aims to provide a holistic experience to young talent in order to help prepare them for their future career aspirations. It showcases our commitment to investing in the leaders of tomorrow.
The program exposes analysts to senior leadership roles and helps strengthen their future-focused skill sets. It also provides analysts with diverse learning and interaction opportunities with the team, along with adequate support to help prepare for B-school admissions. We aim to foster both personal and professional development, with many analysts often establishing life-long friendships during the programme, as well as career mentors. Ultimately, our aim is to empower promising analysts with the tools they need to realise their full potential.
My time as part of True North’s analyst program was marked by a great degree of personal and professional growth. At True North, I worked on many exciting deals and developed a good understanding about private equity investing. The ownership and responsibility required from me forced me out of my comfort zone and honed my collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Apart from the amazing exposure, I cherish most the wonderful people I met during my time there, many of whom I still consider my personal mentors. The organisation is truly invested in an analyst’s growth and I am very grateful to the team for the support I received in applying to business schools.

True North has had a profound impact on both my personal and my professional growth. As an Indian mid-market PE fund, True North provided the opportunity to work not only on the end-to-end deal lifecycle but also on the different facets of PE (fundraising, LP engagement, co-investment, etc.). The lean deal team structure pushed me to take step-level responsibilities right from the beginning and the work ensured a steep learning curve throughout. Furthermore, I met some amazing people who were incredibly supportive of my MBA aspirations and guided me through preparation, recommendations, school selection etc.

It has been an enriching experience working with everyone at True North. The striking quality of the firm is its people – everyone shares a common set of values like staying humble and grounded when it comes to doing business and even otherwise. From the very beginning, True North’s right way of doing business and the overall approach towards being a good partner to all stakeholders was thoroughly imbibed in us. I have learnt a lot in my years with True North and I definitely owe it to the very amiable and approachable leadership at the firm.

True North’s Management Trainee program is focused on nurturing and developing young talent to prepare them for leadership roles at an early stage of their career. By introducing them to complex business scenarios, we aim to arm them with the knowledge and tools to solve real world business problems.
In the initial few months, trainees work very closely with leadership teams, rotating into different businesses. After this, the trainees are placed in senior positions within organizations which are typically at early stages of their growth journey. Career progression is defined by increasing the criticality, challenges and intensity of the role offered after every stint. Our management trainee program is based on a strong foundation of developing leaders for tomorrow – leaders who learn, represent, and embody our ethos.
Within a span of 4 months, I had the opportunity to work with firms in healthcare & financial services with senior leadership in the roles of CDO & COO on high impact projects. Because the firms are in their early stages, the learning curve is pretty high and the projects are extremely meaningful. Coming from a tech background has helped me immensely in adding value to the businesses. The kind of guidance and insights you can get from such experienced folks so early in your career instills strong fundamentals and fast-tracks your growth.

I joined True North in June 2021 and have worked across two prominent industries – Financial Services and Consumer. Within four months, I have got great exposure to some of the crucial projects the companies were working on and the opportunity to work with senior leadership. I started my journey with Fedfina, where I designed and developed a data management system for improving the productivity of the employees. In my second stint, at Sesa Care, I worked with the marketing team on new product development and launch. I got the opportunity to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, manage an ongoing project, take key decisions related to marketing aspects of the product, and got full ownership to start new initiatives. The exposure has helped me hone and further my skillsets and given me confidence to execute any project till its conclusion. I am glad to join True North.

I began my True North journey with my internship in Fincare (a SFB) followed by a 4-month stint in Cloudnine (maternity hospital). My internship at Fincare was exciting as I got to explore the cutting edge of fintech space, had freedom to delve into areas I wanted, while working directly with the leadership team. My MT stint at Cloudnine was similar, where I worked on multiple projects across domains, took business decisions and implemented my ideas which had impact across the hospital chain.
While working in each company has been a unique experience, there has been an overarching thread across all these projects. I believe the culture of True North, of being humble and helping others, of believing in the ability of its employees and providing them responsibility early in the job helps us grow exponentially in a short span of time.
